Greenhouses are increasingly being incorporated into rural development processes, and this weekend a new example of a rooftop greenhouse was presented in Swansea, Wales, UK.
Direct speech: “The Biophilic Living project at Picton Yard Swansea represents a fundamentally new approach to living and working in an urban environment,” said Hacer, a development, investment and launch company.
The philosophy of the project is to encourage community participation and to reunite users and visitors of the building with nature in an urban environment. The long-term goal is to change people's perception of urban life and control the health benefits and well-being of living in nature. And of course, this applies to greenhouses.
The greenhouse on the roof can have a decorative character and perfectly complement the design of the house.
Roof greenhouses in Swansea will be the recently created Community Interest Company, which will allow tenants and users of the building, along with the general public, to grow vegetables and plants together. The institution will also be used as a learning resource and research center at Swansea University.
The project is expected to start at the site in April 2020 and be completed at the beginning of 2022.
