Analysts of the Russian food market, turning to statistics, came to the conclusion that over the past month, the cost of potatoes on domestic trading floors rose by more than 41%.
Moreover, since the beginning of this year, the price of this root crop has increased by as much as 68%. It will not be superfluous to also note that over the past month Russian consumers began to pay more for carrots, tomatoes and onions.
It is known that the price of carrots has increased by 21% since the beginning of March 2019. And tomatoes and onions have become 33% more expensive. The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia drew attention to such colossal dynamics of prices and agreed that the consumer has every right to be indignant in connection with such a significant rise in price of vegetables. That's just the side of implementers and manufacturers also deserves understanding and support. FAS experts are convinced that if you keep the cost of products at the same low level, you can forget about the economic development of the Russian market.
In order for manufacturers of products to be able to maintain their production and develop it, farmers need a profit, so raising the price of vegetables is justified. Such considerations were shared with the public by the deputy head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Andrei Tsyganov.
