On April 28, 2019, a fire started in the chicken coop of the Stepanovka village in the Vinnitsa region.
Nine people of the State Emergencies Ministry and two units of special equipment went to fight the fire, the press service of the Main Administration of the State Emergencies Ministry in the Vinnitsa region said. A message about the fire in the territory of the poultry farm was received on the console of the Rescue Service "101" at 08:39.
When the fighters of the State Fire and Rescue Unit No. 17 arrived at the place of call, they found that a 10-m² chicken-house premises had already been covered by fire. Thanks to the professional actions of the rescuers, it was possible to stop the spread of fire to the rest of the enterprise.
The fire was localized at 09:07, eliminated at 09:13. At this time, experts establish the cause of the fire. Earlier it was reported that during a fire on a farm in the village of Leshchin, Zhidachevsky district of Lviv, 500 farm animals were killed in the fire.
Arriving at the scene, firefighters managed to remove 1,100 pigs from the flames of the building. A fire on an area of 1680 m² was extinguished by 26 personnel and 8 units of special equipment. The incident did without human casualties. The causes of the fire have not yet been clarified.
