The fire at the poultry farm in the village of Borisi, Vasilkovsky District, began at 11:37 on June 4, 2019. First, a flame broke out over the entire roof area of the building, then moved down.
50 firemen and 13 units of special equipment hurried to fight the fire. Local rescuers were joined by colleagues from Obukhov and Chabanov.
As noted by the head of the press service of the State Emergencies Service in the Kiev region, Victoria Ruban, at the time of the fire inside the workshop contained about 150 thousand heads of chickens. All of them died instantly due to the very high temperature.
According to preliminary data and testimonies of the workers of the poultry farm, the roof of the building first caught fire, later the fire spread to the lower level. According to eyewitnesses, smoke from the fire was visible even from Kiev.
According to Victoria Ruban, the fire was quickly extinguished, since there was a water supply on the farm. She said that the construction of the workshop burned out completely, but the neighboring workshops survived. At the moment, the fire has been completely eliminated; there are no injured or dead people.
