The end of last week was marked by a sad event for the Russian Federation as a whole and for the country's farming community in particular - the oldest citizen of the Russian Federation, an experienced agrarian from the Republic of Ingushetia, passed away.
We are talking about Appase Iliev, who was able to live to 123 years. Shortly before his death, he once again shared with the public the secrets of his longevity. Iliev admitted that he had never drank alcohol in his life, did not resort to smoking and tried to exclude from his daily routine the intake of industrial drugs.
The long-lived farmer in his diet focused on fresh vegetables, fruits and berries grown in his own garden, and in meat matters give preference to steamed beef. Iliev quenched thirst with spring water. Physical labor in the garden helped Ingush keep his body in good shape. And the motto of Appaz Iliev’s whole life was “to value what is and share what you have.”Note that a farmer was born in 1896 in the Ingush village of Guli. He often said that he fought during the Civil War, and also took part in the fighting of World War II - then he received a serious leg injury.
When Iliev turned 121, he turned to an ophthalmologist for help, and soon he underwent an operation to remove cataracts. However, this did not overshadow the life of the long-liver.And in May 2019, the oldest citizen of the Russian Federation was taken to the clinic due to acute multiple organ failure. Having fallen into a coma, Iliev never regained consciousness.
