How many sown areas are allotted to agrarians for radishes this year, we can only say approximately, since the bulk of the total radish harvest falls on private households of citizens. Industrial enterprises occupy less than 10% of the total production of root crops. In total, this vegetable is grown on 700 hectares, and its total production reaches 7.6 thousand.

Experts believe that large volumes of radish cultivation in the population prevent large enterprises from cultivating it. Today in Ukraine there are practically no large farms that would be engaged in the cultivation of radishes. This is the prerogative of small or medium-sized businesses.

However, radish remains a very attractive crop culture. It is not difficult to take care of it, but you can grow it in different ways: in open ground, in racks and cassettes, in hydroponics, in a greenhouse, under agrofibre, as a sealant or precursor for tomatoes and peppers in a greenhouse.

The short growing season, the edibility of both tubers and leaves attracted the attention of scientists to this particular vegetable.
