Today, Ukrainians buy ginger brought from abroad in supermarkets.

The cost of an overseas root does not “bite,” but the benefits are obvious. Given the love of Ukrainians for healthy ginger, scientists are puzzled why Ukrainian farmers have not yet taken up the mass cultivation of this crop on state-owned lands.

The researchers found that the soil and climatic conditions of the Kherson, Zaporizhzhya and Mykolayiv regions are suitable for mass cultivation of ginger, which feels good and actively bears fruit on light soil, in conditions of abundant watering and long daylight hours. In other regions of Ukraine, it can be grown in greenhouses and have a good income from the sale of the crop, given that the price of ginger in the Ukrainian market varies from 70 to 100 hryvnias per 1 kilogram.

It is noteworthy that it is very easy to find planting material for future plantations - it is enough to buy ginger roots in the market or in a supermarket: before planting in the ground, make sure that the roots have a sufficient number of processes.
