Weather conditions that have been established in the Minsk region over the past few weeks are not very pleasing to local mushroom pickers.
The beginning of the summer season was arid, but the middle abruptly replaced the heat with sudden coolness. It was only in August that she managed to warm slightly, which instilled hope in the mushroom pickers for a warm and humid summer finale, as September shocked the “quiet hunters” with cold nights and cloudy days.
All this led to the fact that the mushroom crop at the end of last season is very difficult to call generous. Procurers of the Minsk regional consumer union note that they took only four tons of mushrooms from the population. But a year ago, the rate of delivery of mushrooms from the population exceeded twelve tons.
Today, mushroom pickers are mainly selling chanterelles to Minskoblpotrebsoyuz, receiving four to eight Belarusian rubles for each kilogram for them.
Note that this year a very meager blueberry crop was recorded. By common efforts, the berry of the metropolitan region collected only one hundred and sixty tons of this berry, although a year earlier the figure was six hundred and fifty kilograms.
As for cranberries, in this case, Minskoblpotrebsoyuz reports that it has received ten thousand tons of marsh berry from the population.
