Vinnitsa breeder Mikhail Nagornyak will first present purple sweet corn at the VinCornFest sweet corn festival, which will be held in early August in Vinnitsa.

The new variety is still being researched, but has already become famous among farmers. The effect of corn was studied in rodents.

They showed that animals that ate purple corn were healthier and felt better than those who ate the usual food, noted festival organizer Dmitry Savchuk. To participate in VinCornFest invite farmers who grow sweet and other corn, cooks, restaurateurs, experts in conducting master classes.

In the central park, you can try dishes from 20 varieties of sweet and super-sweet corn. The exact date of the event is being specified. Within the framework of the festival, various locations are planned: training farmers, comparing the characteristics of the cobs of domestic and import selection, children's master classes, cooking dishes from corn, said Dmitry Savchuk.

For information, Mikhail Nagornyak started breeding purple corn when he found out that almost all such corn is grain and it takes about 2 hours to cook it.

He set a goal and created a variety of edible purple corn that can be cooked in 10 minutes. European manufacturers do not have such varieties, therefore, already in 2023, after passing certification, Ukraine will be able to export products to the EU.
